Patience Recipe: Rellenong Bangus (Stuffed Milkfish)

A yummy bangus (milkfish) dish but too laborious to make but worth it.

To be able to make it, you need a lot of patience, a hell lot!

To begin with, this is how I made it.

First, you need to boil the bangus, remove the flesh from the fish bone, one by one.

Doesn't that need patience?

I don’t know personally how to extract the inner flesh of the bangus so I asked the seller to do it for  me and that’s free!

In other places, they will charge you extra for it.

Going back, here’s my ingredients and as usual, most of it is in estimation.

Here it is!

The Ingredients:

  • Bangus (milkfish, boiled, fish meat removed from the fish bone). I bought 2 kilos.

  • 5 cloves minced garlic

  • 2 pcs finely chopped medium size onion

  • 2 pcs finely chopped carrots

  • A small pack of raisins

  • Pickle relish

  • 4 tomatoes

  • Small pack of Tomato sauce

  • Ground pork

  • 4 scramble eggs

  • Ground Black pepper

  • Soy sauce

  • Oyster sauce (optional if you have only)

  • ½  cube of chicken cube

  • Salt

  • Sugar ( Yes, I used it on in my every dish )

  • Cooking oil

How to cook?

  1. Heat cooking oil in a skillet, saute garlic until it becomes light brown, follow the onion, tomatoes and tomato sauce

  2. Add the ground pork, carrots, oyster sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, pickle relish, fish meat, the raisins and the chicken cube.

  3. Add sugar based on your preference

  4. Taste first before adding salt.

  5. Let is cool before adding the scramble eggs

  6. Stuff these in the bangus skin after. Don’t overstuff to avoid bursting

  7. Before frying, dredge in flour the fish skin
